Monti grand slams at Batavia, reaches 2,500 wins
When Drew Monti won the first race at Batavia Downs on Friday (Oct. 4) night with Heavens Fury (2:00.4, $5.10), he reached a major milestone by registering the 2,500th win of his career, and he did it on his 30th birthday. The win was only the first of four that Monti had during the evening, putting an exclamation mark on his accomplishment. He also won with Hudsonandbernard (1:57.2, $9.90), I’m Already Gone (1:56.4, $6.10) and Seasiderocket (1:58.4, $7.20).
The Goose Princess leads Lexington sale on Day 4
Trotting filly The Goose Princess was the top seller during the Thursday (Oct. 3) session of the Lexington Selected Yearling Sale, purchased at the Fasig-Tipton Pavilion by Determination for $120,000.
Metro winner Fallout returns to Red Mile Saturday
