‘Sarsota’ scores big in Big M’s Crawford Farms Kinergarten
Racing returned to The Meadowlands on a rainy Friday (Oct. 20) night after a five-week hiatus with seven $20,000 leg-four divisions of the Crawford Farms Kindergarten Series for 2-year-olds of each sex and gait, and in the lone dash for pacing fillies, it was the Linda Toscano-trained Sarasota Hanover winning in impressive fashion.
Better Is Nice, Storm Shadow, Captain Albano take Breeders Crown elims
In the first of three $25,000 Breeders Crown for freshman pacing colts, Better Is Nice flew five wide from behind in the stretch to catch fading favorite Newsroom and brush off a late close by Gem Quality to win by a neck in 1:50.3 on Friday (Oct. 20) at Harrah’s Hoosier Park.

In the second $25,000 elimination for freshman pacing females, 1-5 favorite Geocentric with Tim Tetrick aboard nailed down her ninth consecutive win on Friday (Oct. 20) for trainer Brian Brown in 1:51 for owners Leeman, Keith, Stambaugh and Sbrocco at Harrah’s Hoosier Park. Geocentric pushed her career earnings to $549,251 with the win.

Massive Lightning strikes at 40-1 at Plainridge Park
Three $17,500 conditioned trots headlined the card at Plainridge Park on Friday afternoon (Oct. 20) and the most shocking result came in the last one of the day. Massive Lighting came off an impressive victory in his last outing and was totally overlooked as the longest shot in the race at 40-1, yet he rallied late to take a second straight victory.
