USTA assumes organizational role in advisory committees to HISA
The U.S. Trotting Association in conjunction with Hambletonian Society President John Campbell announced Tuesday (Sept. 24) that the USTA will assume an organizational role with five existing committees that were created to make harness racing-specific rule recommendations to the Horseracing Integrity and Safety Authority (HISA) should that body survive its constitutional challenges and if it assumes a position as the governing body of harness racing.
Lucille Wick, 89, dies
Lucille A. Wick, 89, of Rome, N.Y., and formerly of Pompano Beach, Fla. and Taberg, N.Y., died Sept. 17, 2024. Several warm-hearted family members visited her bedside during her last hours. Her loving grandniece, Erin Rivers, affectionately called “Missy Blue Eyes” by Aunt Cille, was at her side when she passed.

USTA to debut graded stakes information in 2025 yearling sales catalog pedigrees
Graded stakes information will debut in yearling sales catalog pedigree pages beginning in 2025, the U.S. Trotting Association announced Monday. The move comes as the result of standards created by a Graded Stakes Committee that was formed in 2023 at the request of major sales companies and breeders, with the support of the USTA.
