Season after season, Lit De Rose continues to bloom. The now 9-year-old female pacer enjoyed a career-best season in 2023, posting 11 wins and earning $354,985. It was her fourth consecutive campaign with six figures in purses and bettered her previous money high of $211,805 set one year earlier. Lit De Rose made her 2024 debut last week at Yonkers as she prepares for next month’s start of the Blue Chip Matchmaker Series at The Hilltop.

Grace Rocks remains hot at Rosecroft
Grace Rocks in five lifetime starts at Rosecroft has lost only once. Last fall, the 7-year-old daughter of Rockin Image won off of a 21-day layoff. Tuesday night (Feb. 27) at Rosecroft, she made her season’s debut and this time off of a 70-day layoff, the winning machine was on point and went by the pacesetting I Love Ongait in the stretch to win by just under a length for driver Justin Walters.

Up-and-comers impress at Pocono
The temperature rose to the mid-50s on Monday afternoon (Feb. 26) at Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania after hovering near freezing during the first three days of the meet, with the fastest trot and pace of the year registered, and both outside of the featured events. Simon Allard won both of those $15,000 contests, one for each gait.

A ‘new look’ Buffalo Raceway opens Saturday
When Buffalo Raceway swings open its gate to begin the 55-day live harness racing meet on Saturday (March 2) starting at 6 p.m., fans on and off track will see a ‘new look’ at how the races are presented. Buffalo Raceway’s broadcasts will now be in high definition and will also have new graphics as well to complement the off-track and in-house feeds.
