Meadows Monday Memo

Washington, PA — Here is this week’s Meadows Monday Memo.

LUCKY7 STARTS NEXT WEEK
The Lucky7, The Meadows’ new Pick-7 wager, will begin next Wednesday (March 6). With a $1 minimum and a 15 percent takeout, the wager will take place daily beginning in race three. It is not a jackpot wager — all full winning tickets will share in the pool. However, if no full winning tickets are sold, there will be a 100 percent carryover of the net pool.

STAKE SEASON AROUND THE CORNER
Every year, The Meadows’ Spring Series events are the lead-in to stake season, and the first series events kick off on Wednesday (March 6). The draw will take place this Friday for the first event, the Donna Dunn Memorial Series, for 3- and 4-year-old pacing fillies and mares. Each series will have two legs and a final. The finals will take place between March 20-22.

CLOSE BATTLE ATOP DRIVER STANDINGS
Drivers Dave Palone and Ronnie Wrenn Jr. are locked in a close battle for first place in wins among drivers at The Meadows. Palone has 51, while Wrenn currently has 50 victories. Aaron Merriman is third (42), followed by Hunter Myers (24) and Brady Brown (18). Notable among drivers with fewer starts, Tyler Stillings has driven 10 races so far in 2024, with three wins and four second place finishes, for a UDR rating of .522.
