Claiming prices adjusted for amateur races at Oak Grove
The United States Harness Drivers Club (USHDC), in conjunction with Oak Grove Racing, is alerting horsemen to a change in the amateur race conditions for the Kentucky track’s upcoming meet. Oak Grove will race from April 16 through July 2, with amateur races being offered on every Sunday card.

Shuffle Up Hanover, a sophomore Betting Line colt out of a full sister to Somebeachsomewhere, won in 1:55.3 as Harrah’s Philadelphia saw its first action of 2023 in Friday morning (March 24) qualifiers.
NJRC upholds Lawless Shadow’s Meadowlands Pace victory
According to a story on Harness Racing Update, at the NJRC’s public meeting held on Wednesday (March 23) at The Meadowlands, the six commissioners voted in favor of a motion from commission chair Pamela J. Clyne to uphold the original racetrack judges’ decision over the recommendation of ALJ Baron.
Stag Party wins a thriller in the Rosecroft Preferred
On a warm Thursday night with temperatures in the 70s and Rosecroft horsemen upgrading their stock, it was no surprise that the card turned out the way it did. Several amazing finishes with dramatic stretch drives produced nine races where the winner won by less than a length and some that were super tight photos. The most dramatic came in Rosecroft’s $17,000 Preferred Pace.

Rhys Helt has known Tim Wilson Jr. for as long as he can remember. Their families have shared a connection going back to the 1970s. Over the ensuing years, their passion for racing never waned. Tim Jr. embarked on his own career as a trainer and driver while Helt followed in family footsteps on the breeding and racing side. They continued to remain connected, though, by sharing ownership in horses, now most notably with 6-year-old male pacer Crooked Smile.
