Back-to-back Dover wins for I Did It Myway

Dover, DE — I Did It Myway did took the overland route to his second consecutive victory in Thursday night’s (Dec. 14) $27,500 Blue Hen/Open Handicap Pace at Bally’s Dover.

I Did It Myway and driver Tim Tetrick settled off the pace in fifth while Jimmy Freight won an early battle for the lead after Penzance Hanover parked him to the quarter in :27. As Jimmy Freight rolled to the half in :55.4, I Did It Myway moved to the outside and sprinted up the backstretch in hot pursuit of the lead. After dueling past three-quarters in 1:23.1 and through the far turn, I Did It Myway cleared the lead at the top of the stretch while Penzance Hanover pulled the pocket and Mack uncorked a rally from last. I Did It Myway accelerated in deep stretch and went on to win by two lengths in 1:51. Penzance Hanover finished second; Mack rallied for third.

I Did It Myway, whom Chuck Crissman Jr. trains for David Hamm, EVM Racing and Glenn Phillips, paid $3.20 to win. Both Tetrick and Crissman won four races on the 14-race card.

Bally’s Dover hosts live harness racing Monday through Thursday; post time is 4:30 p.m.
