Batavia, NY — Batavia Downs Gaming and ADK Hospitality, LLC, today announced a groundbreaking ceremony for their Batavia Downs Gaming Hotel project on Monday (Oct. 19), beginning at 11 a.m. The Batavia hotel project is strategically located at Batavia’s most significant tourist attraction, Batavia Downs Gaming.

“The recent transformational expansion by Batavia Downs Gaming has been a tremendous benefit for the region and we are thrilled to be part of this area’s growth,” said ADK’s partner Anthony Baynes. “We intend to build a first class hotel to complement all the exciting new construction projects that will take Batavia to new heights.”

The $7.5 million privately funded ADK project is expected to open by May of 2016.

Plans for the hotel will accompany the newly completed $28 million interior renovation of the current Batavia Downs Gaming.

“Construction of a four-story, 84-room hotel will help support the newly modernized 500 seat banquet facility, Fortune’s Italian restaurants and the Thurman Thomas 34 Rush Sports Bar and Lounge,” said Batavia Downs Executive Vice President Mike Nolan.

“As designed, the new hotel will provide patrons with spectacular live racing views of the oldest lighted harness racing track in America from their rooms,” said ADK partner Kent Frey.

The new Batavia Downs Gaming Hotel has partnered with the Hart Hotel Group to operate this new project.

“We are excited to be working with Hart Hotel Group, Western New York’s largest hotel management company,” said David McNamara of ADK.

“We believe the new Batavia Downs Gaming Hotel will only enhance the Batavia Downs Gaming experience for our customers as well as provide the potential to drive additional visitation to the Batavia region, and we look forward to completion of the construction,” said Western OTB CEO and President, Michael D. Kane.

Batavia Downs/Western Regional Off-Track Betting is a public benefit corporation owned and operated by 15 Western New York counties and the cities of Rochester and Buffalo with headquarters in Batavia, N.Y. WROTB owns and operates 28 branches, as well as Batavia Downs Gaming, a Standardbred racetrack and gaming facility.
