Beads to race from second tier in Paris

After a very convincing victory in the Prix de Luxembourg a fortnight ago at Vincennes, North American-bred Beads with trainer/driver Jean Michel Bazire is entered to race in the prestigious Prix de France at Vincennes Sunday afternoon (Feb. 12).

Beads must race from the second tier in the 1-5/16 mile event, as the nine trotters with the most winnings are drawn behind the gate and the rest to the second tier.

Despite Beads having to race from the second tier, Bazire has opted to drive him and leaves his winner of the Prix d’Amerique, Hooker Berry, to son Nicolas.

The total purse is 400,000 Euro.

Here is the start list (nine trotters behind the gate and nine race from the second tier).
