Yonkers, NY – Tony Beltrami ripped around the track with 3-2 favorite Windsong Pioneer for a 1:56.3 blowout win over a track rated “sloppy” in the lone $13,100 North American Amateur Drivers Association trot at MGM Yonkers Raceway on Thursday night (Aug. 20).

Leaving from post 5, Beltrami hustled Windsong Pioneer to the top before a :28.1 first quarter and coasted under no pressure to a :58.2 half. He accelerated for the backstretch and promptly widened his lead on pocket-chaser Ima Standup Guy (driven by Joe Faraldo) and had a seven-length lead past three-quarters in 1:26.4.
Windsong Pioneer continued to separate spinning for home and wrapped the mile an 11-1/4-length winner with Big Limo (Anthony Verruso) vaulting down the center of the track for second. Shake N Bake (Yogi Sheridan) also closed to finish third and Ima Standup Guy held fourth.
Pat Lachance trains Windsong Pioneer, a 10-year-old gelding by E L Titan, for owner Thomas Ceraso Jr. He paid $5.14 to win.
The NAADA Summer Series concludes with a $20,000 final next Thursday (Aug. 27) at Yonkers Raceway. First-race post time is 6:45 p.m. (EDT).
