Best Head West wins third in a row

Harrington, DE — Let It Ride Stable and Bottom Line Racing’s Best Head West ($5.40, Montrell Teague) was a 1:54.1 winner in the $20,000 Mares Open Pace on Tuesday (Sept. 19) at Harrington Raceway, her third straight victory.

The 5-year-old Bettor’s Delight successfully ascended in class off two conditioned wins in Pennsylvania and Delaware and charged first-over confidently to clear pacesetter Majorca N and open up on the field for her ninth win of the year. Trained by Mike Hall, Best Head West recorded her 24th career win. Michelle’s Jazz was second and Tae finished third.

Earlier in the card, Jo Ann Looney-King and Ken Frieder’s Legal Jeopardy ($2.80, Ross Wolfenden) notched her fourth straight win for trainer Jim King Jr. in 1:54.4. The Stay Hungry sophomore filly was an easy winner in a $13,500 conditioned pace. It was one of four wins on the card for Wolfenden.

Jim Morand had a driving triple.

Live racing at Harrington will continue on a Monday-through-Wednesday schedule through Oct. 18.
