Jody Jamieson kept Bettor Sisters (Bettor’s Delight) off the pace set by leader Century Kalimba (Sportswriter) and driver Travis Cullen through fractions of :27.3, :56.3, and 1:24.4. In the backstretch, Bettor Sisters overtook Century Kalimba and This Magic Moment (Big Jim), driven by James MacDonald, challenged Century Kalimba in the battle for second, but wound up third. Bettor Sisters crossed the wire first in 1:53.2.

“She was very impressive, I didn’t know if I was going to have to move her to the lead or how it was going to go but it worked out,” said Jamieson. “I got back to the lead pretty easily, and at the head of the stretch she just took off again.”

The filly earned her first OSS Gold win of her career.

Trainer Daniel Lagace touched on Bettor Sisters’ win: “She did everything right, she did it all easy, but I mean to beat these horses you have to be good,” said Lagace.

Lagace is co-owner with Big Als Stables. Bettor Sisters’ Gold win paid $6.60. For her first OSS win, Bettor Sisters collected C$50,200 in earnings.

“It was pretty successful, and I was really happy with her,” says Jamieson.
