Washington C.H., OH – The Buckeye Fair Racing Consortium would like to congratulate the scholarship recipients for 2026, Alexa Nisonger and Nathaniel Baird.
Each year these three colt racing circuits pool $5 from each bonus fair staked to by the horsemen and award a scholarship. Ann and Ray Lufkin carefully review the entries and make the awards based on how our youth view harness racing and what their ideas are for the future of county fair harness racing.
This year, the Lufkin’s augmented the scholarship pool themselves so that the total awarded was $6,000 for 2026. The Buckeye Fair Racing Consortium sends our sincere thanks to Ann and Ray Lufkin for their continued support of the scholarship and our congratulations to Alexa Nisonger, who attends Otterbein University, and Nathaniel Baird, who attends Bowling Green State University.
