Yonkers, NY – Tuesday night’s (April 21) program at MGM Yonkers Raceway saw favorites go just one-for-nine, leading to both the late Pick-4 and the Pick-5 not being hit. As a result, there will be a $15,873 carryover and a $50,000 guaranteed pool in the early Pick-4 and a $12,495 carryover and a $40,000 guaranteed pool in the Pick-5 on Wednesday (April 22).
The guarantees in the early Pick-4 and Pick-5 are being offered as part of the United States Trotting Association’s Strategic Wagering Program and free past performances, courtesy of TrackMaster, will be available at handicapping.ustrotting.com. The early Pick-4, which starts in Race 1, and the Pick-5, which begins in Race 5, have $1 minimums and have a takeout rate of 20 percent.
Wednesday night’s $100,000 final of the John Brennan Trotting Series will be part of the Pick-5 sequence, as it is set to take place in Race 7, while the $50,000 consolation will be among the events in the Pick-4, as it is Race 2 on the nine-race card.
Looking ahead, the final prelims in both the MGM Ursula McIntyre Pacing Series and the MGM Borgata Pacing Series are set, with three $50,000 divisions of the McIntyre on Friday (April 24) and the Borgata on Monday (April 27).
This is the final week that Yonkers is on the Monday through Friday live racing schedule for a bit as the oval will switch to Monday/Tuesday and Thursday through Saturday slate beginning next week and continuing through the first week in June. Post time will be 6:45 p.m. (EDT) except Saturday, as those programs will kick off at 3:30 p.m. (EDT).
