Nichols, NY – Blazing Home N, with trainer/driver Larry Stalbaum, captured the $14,500 Open Pace at Tioga Downs on Monday (Sept. 7).
Blazing Home N zipped to the quarter in :26.2, and cruised to the half in :54. He took a three-length lead heading down the backstretch and was first to three-quarters in 1:21.
As they made the turn for home, Blazing Home N said catch me if you can. Second-place finisher Rockstar Artist A (driven by Braxten Boyd) and third-place finisher Livonjaxandqueens (Tom Merton) both went on the chase but Blazing Home N was much the best, winning in 1:50.1.
Blazing Home N is a 7-year-old gelding by Rock N Roll Heaven, and he is owned by Stalbaum. He picked up his 10th win this season and 30th of his career. He paid $2.24 to win.
Boyd and Mike Merton had driving triples. Stalbaum had a driving-training double.
Tioga Downs returns to live racing on Friday (Sept. 11) starting at 6:15 p.m. (EDT).
