Vernon, NY – Bluesville and Sharp Seven captured the co-features at Vernon Downs on Sunday (July 12).

Bluesville, driven by Ron Harp, won the $7,500 featured pace.
Gregory (driven by Jimmy Whittemore) was first to the quarter in :27 and first to the half in :56.1. Bluesville, who was third at the race’s midpoint, made his move heading around the final turn. Gregory led to three quarters in 1:24.1. Bluesville passed eventual third-place finisher Gregory in the stretch. Second-place finisher Three In Heaven A (Chris Long) made a late bid, but Bluesville prevailed in 1:52.1.
Bluesville is a 7-year-old gelding by Huntsville. He is owned by Big Sky Ranch and trained by Harp. It was his second win this season and his 27th career victory. He paid $8.66 to win.
Sharp Seven, with Frank Affrunti, took the $7,500 featured trot.
Lous Lancelot (James Lackey) led to the quarter in :28.3. He was joined by Highexitvelocity (John MacDonald) as they headed to the half. Lous Lancelot got there first in :59, but Highexitvelocity had a short lead to three quarters in 1:28.1. Sharp Seven came flying down the stretch to win by 2 lengths in 1:56.1. Tiktok Roy (Chris Long) fired late to finish second. What A Mission (Michael Miller) was third.
Sharp Seven is a 3-year-old filly by Chapter Seven. She is owned by Purple Haze Stables and trained by George Ducharme. It was her second win this season and her seventh career victory. She paid $2.58 to win.
Leon Bailey drove five winners on the card. He was first with Commonwealth Ave, Vel Who Said, Girlonthebillboard, Ideal Artillery, and Mattucci.
Vernon Downs returns to live racing on Friday (July 17) with a post time of 5:05 p.m. (EDT).
