Columbus, OH — Meadowlands executive and USTA director Jason Settlemoir on Friday (May 1) offered the following update on his Facebook page about driver Brett Beckwith:

An update on our friend and leading reins man at the Meadowlands Racetrack Brett Beckwith from his mother Melissa Silverman Beckwith. Keep Brett, his mom and family in your thoughts and prayers.
“So the update isn’t bad but not exactly what we had hoped. Brett had to get a hard cast yesterday for his wrist that he has to wear for two weeks. After two weeks it comes off and he will just have a removable brace and will be able to start PT. The wires did come off his jaw today and he got rubber bands. But unfortunately, he still has to be on a liquid diet for the next two weeks. After that all the hardware in his mouth will come out. For the first couple days after that, he will have to have soft foods, but then can go back to his normal diet. We are getting there! Just have to get by these next two weeks.”
