Pequannock, NJ — From equine stars to “pony cars,” BreyerFest: DRIVING FORWARD is the fast track to family fun with something for everyone. The annual celebration returns to the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Ky., on July 14-16. A mecca for Breyer model horses, the real horses that inspire them, and horse lovers of every age, BreyerFest’s unique “hybrid” format—attend in-person or virtually online—gives fans anywhere in the world the chance to experience the 3-day event.

This year’s Breyerfest features the white, female trotter Via Lattea IT.

Born in Italy, under the shadow of the Basilica of St. Francis of Assisi, this special mare became Europe’s first white trotter. Named after the white stars found in the Milky Way, she was bought by Tristan Sjoberg, who has indeed helped this special mare become a star on and off the track.

Via, who is no stranger to the spotlight, attracts the attention of trainers and press wherever she goes. Trainer Åke Svanstedt would say Via Lattea knows she is queen of the track and would rather get her picture taken than train.

Ending her successful racing career in 2019, which included a win in the $30,000 Bobby Weiss Series at Pocono, Via Lattea has become a successful broodmare, even producing another white trotter foal in 2022.

BreyerFest 2023’s theme, Driving Forward, is a tribute to how horses have shaped human history. From the days of charging chariots to journeys aboard a clanking chuckwagon, from leisurely drives along country roads to a thrilling, sleek sulky racing around a track, horses have driven us forward.
