Nichols, NY – Brilliant Beauty (Tyler Miller) held on by a nose to capture the $13,000 Open 1-2 Handicap Fillies & Mare Pace at Tioga Downs on Saturday (May 27).

Pearl Harbour N (Mike Merton) grabbed the early lead but Brilliant Beauty ($8.60) forged on to take over just before hitting the quarter first in :27.2. She used a :29.4 second quarter to be first to the half in :57.1. Lets Ryde Girl was first to make a move going first-up down the backstretch. Brilliant Beauty repelled the challenge and led to three-quarters in 1:25.

As they reached the stretch, Pearl Harbour N popped the pocket and came all out after the lead. Brilliant Beauty dug in as Pearl Harbour N kept coming. Brilliant Beauty held on to win by a nose in 1:54.2. Pearl Harbour N had to settle for second. April Ava (Aaron Byron) was third.

Brilliant Beauty is a 5-year-old mare by JK Endofanera. He is owned by Jemaxpo Racing Stable and trained by Tee Wine. It was her fourth win in 2023. She now owns 19 career victories.
