Nichols, NY – Brilliant Beauty (Tyler Miller) charges late to win the at $11,000 Fillies & Mares Open 1-2 Handicap at Tioga Downs on Sunday (May 7).

Prairie Westerngal went right to the front and led to the first quarter in :27.3. She used a :29.1 second quarter to be first to the half in :56.4. Brilliant Beauty ($5.60) came first-over from third going down the backstretch. Prairie Westerngal had a short lead to three-quarters in 1:25.1.

As they reached the stretch it was Brilliant Beauty and Prairie Westerngal shoulder to shoulder. Brilliant Beauty found another gear and won easily in 1:54.1. Miley Rose (Brandon Parker) came up to finish second. Arnie’s Angel (Ridge Warren) finished third.

Brilliant Beauty is a 5-year-old mare by JK Endofanera. He is owned by Jemaxpro Racing Stable LLC and trained by Tee Wine. It was her second win this season and her 17th career victory.

Driver Lauren Tritton and trainer Shane Tritton combined for three wins on the card. Driver Mike Merton also had a hat trick on the day.
