Carryovers highlight Saturday Northfield program

Northfield, OH — Wednesday (Aug. 30) night proved tricky for gamblers at MGM Northfield Park, creating a pair of wagering opportunities to highlight Saturday (Sept. 2) night’s program.

The Super Hi-5 featured in races one and 13 every night went uncaptured during the latter part of the program as Ballard Mr Coin (Jason Thompson) won in gate-to-wire fashion at 28-1 over Out Wit (Elliott Deaton) at 68-1, and Ardeen (Kurt Sugg) at 32-1. Race favorite Oren (Aaron Merriman) made a mid-race move and tried to rally but had to settle for fourth. The carryover of $10,664 will move to Saturday’s first race.

Saturday’s card features a stellar $22,000 Filly and Mare Open featuring some of the top filly and mare pacers in Northeast Ohio.

The Pick-6 (race eight) also went unsolved on Wednesday evening and sports a carryover of $719.
