Schedule for Pennsylvania-sired pari-mutuel championships
With the last preliminary rounds of the Pennsylvania Sire Stakes and Pennsylvania Stallion Series completed on Sunday (Aug. 30), there’s scant time to catch one’s breath before this coming Labor Day Weekend’s staging of the Championship events of these pari-mutuel programs for the premier Pennsylvania-sired 2- and 3-year-olds, in aggregate worth over $3 million for the cream of the Pennsylvania crop.

Hambletonian Society partners with Hawk Sports Management on premier harness racing events
The Hambletonian Society, which owns and administers 164 of harness racing’s most prestigious events, has partnered with Don Hawk’s Hawk Sports Management firm to pursue corporate partnerships, brand activations and sponsorships for upcoming events. The agreement covers the $7 million Breeders Crown championship series in 2026 and 2027 and the 2027 Hambletonian Stakes at Harrah’s Hoosier Park in Indiana.
Governor Mike DeWine selected for Little Brown Jug Wall of Fame
Governor Mike DeWine has been selected as the 41st inductee into the prestigious Little Brown Jug Wall of Fame, an honor presented annually by the Delaware County Fair to individuals who have made exceptional contributions to the historic pacing classic and the fairgrounds that host it.
California sires stakes accepting nominations
In July 2025, the California Sires Stakes (CSSSC) refunded payments for foals nominated for the program due to uncertainty in harness racing. Racing at Fresno Fairgrounds will start in December 2026, backed by a two-year Watch and Wager contract through April 2028.
