The Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association will feature Ron Steck and his Ohio 2-year-olds in training in this week’s edition of Freshman Focus.

The annual Harness Racing Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place Sunday, July 6, 2025 at the Harness Racing Museum & Hall of Fame in Goshen, NY. The Ceremony begins at 5 p.m.

After serving in numerous roles during her time at Rutgers University, Dr. Malinowski will retire on July 1, 2025 having dedicated over 47 years of her life to serving Rutgers, New Jersey, and an international equine community.

The SOA of NY will pay for a buffet dinner only (no alcohol) up to four people per horse who are racing in the Yonkers Trot, MGM Grand Messenger, Park MGM Pace and the New York New York Mile, where an owner is present and IS A SOA of NY MEMBER.

The Standardbred Breeders and Owners Association of New Jersey and the Backstretch Community Assistance Program of New Jersey will award scholarships to qualified students currently enrolled in or plan to attend a two- or four-year college or university.

The funeral service for Richard O’Donnell will take place this Saturday (June 28) at 11 a.m. at the Church of St. Denis, 90 Union Ave., Manasquan, N.J. 08736.

Due to the extreme heat June 23, 24, 25, anyone not wanting to race may scratch without penalty, but they must call the judges to do so.

Richard Ansel Mathurin Sr., 88, most recently of San Diego, Calif., passed away peacefully on June 18, 2025, at Kearny Mesa Convalescent and Nursing Home.
