Scholarships totaling $15,000 will be shared by at least three students attending college or graduate school during the 2019-2020 academic year. Children of licensed owners, trainers, drivers, caretakers, or racetrack personnel are eligible to receive grants up to $5,000.

Microchip identification now effective in Ohio
Governor Mike DeWine signed an Executive Order on May 23, 2019 permitting the use of microchips as a means to identify racehorses — Standardbred, Thoroughbred and Quarter Horses — who are entered to race at any of Ohio’s seven racetracks, as well as at the Buckeye State’s county fairs.

Ewell Binkley, 83, dies
Ewell Elton Binkley, 83, of Henning, Tenn., died May 20, 2019, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital. Mr. Binkley was a trainer and driver of Standardbreds.
