With Saturday’s (Aug. 19) win at the Humboldt fairgrounds Ima Juggernaut takes a slight lead in the standings over rival Princess Legacy. The two Lou’s Legacy fillies have been tied in the standings most of the year.

The Henry County Fair at Napoleon, Ohio, played host to Ohio Fair Racing Conference action on Tuesday (Aug. 15) and Wednesday (Aug, 16). A much-improved track enabled many horses to establish new lifetime marks.
Twinspeak breaks track record at Mercer County Fair
The Mercer County Fair at Celina, Ohio, hosted Western Ohio Colt Racing Association action on Sunday (Aug. 13) and Monday (Aug. 14) with record-tying and record-breaking being the name of the game. The overall pacing mark of 1:56.3 set by Look Yankee in 2012 was equaled on Sunday and then broken on Monday while the overall trotting record of 1:59.4 established by Tesla in 2014 was tied on Sunday’s card.

Nicole Hanover sets track record at Dayton (PA) Fairgrounds
The 2-year-old trotting filly Nicole Hanover won her career debut in June at the Dayton Fairgrounds, and on Thursday (Aug. 17) she returned to the track and posted a new track record for age, sex, and gait with a 2:03.4 victory.

The third day of the four-day State Fair of West Virginia harness meet at the fairgrounds in this city in the southeast part of the state saw a familiar name – Ammon Hershberger – and a new name for 2017 – Ryan Malone – both record driving doubles on the Wednesday card, including a feature win for each on the two gaits.
Tony and Linda Schadel continue winning ways at Washington (PA) Fair
The husband/wife team of driver Tony and trainer Linda Schadel continued their hot hands at the famed Arden Downs oval at the Washington County Fair in this city literally just down the street from The Meadows, including the fastest pacing winners during both Monday’s (Aug. 14) sophomore action and the freshmen on Tuesday (Aug. 15).
Four-day meet underway at State Fair of West Virginia
On the first day of the annual four-day harness racing meet at the State Fair of West Virginia in this city in the southeastern part of the state, War Chief won the featured $2,000 Open Trot, which honored the late George Aide, well-known throughout the middle Atlantic states for his top-notch racing stable (emphasizing trotters and “Red Oak’s” horses) and a very good friend of a healthy racing program at his native state fair.
Overall trotting track record among many records broken at Attica Fair
The Attica Fair at Attica, Ohio played host to Ohio Fair Racing Conference action on Wednesday (Aug. 9) and Thursday (Aug. 10). Speed was the name of the game as many new track records were established.
