Kentucky Fair program closes season at Red Mile Saturday
Fair action will take center stage Saturday (Aug. 4) at Red Mile in the Kentucky Fair finals, each racing for a purse of $15,000. A total of 48 starters will go to the gate in the eight races. Two races are scheduled pre-program with post time for the first race at 5:45 p.m. The pre-program races includes the 3-year-old filly trot and the 2-year-old colt and gelding trot.

Patrick and Binkley take Ohio Ladies Pace Series races
Both of this week’s Ohio Ladies Pace Series races were contested on Wednesday (Aug. 1). Rhonda Patrick found the winner’s circle at the Auglaize County Fair at Wapakoneta while Alesha Binkley emerged victorious at the Greene County Fair at Xenia.
Sophomores finish meet at Clearfield (PA) Fair
Tuesday (July 31) and Wednesday (Aug. 1) were devoted to 3-year-old Pennsylvania Fair Sire Stakes at the end of the four-day meeting in this north-central Pennsylvania town, and the same pattern repeated from the Sunday/Monday opening sessions for 2-year-olds: the trotters, who went first in each group, got the better of the weather.
