Rivals ready for dance with Nijinsky
While stablemates Nijinsky and Legendary Hanover enter Saturday’s $650,000 Meadowlands Pace for 3-year-olds at The Meadowlands as the top choices on the morning line at 2-1 and 3-1, respectively, a number of other horses could be in the mix when it comes to chasing victory at The Meadowlands. A look back as Tetrick aims to equal Pace record
From his earliest days of driving on the Grand Circuit, Tim Tetrick has enjoyed success in the Meadowlands Pace. He captured his first Pace in 2007 at the age of 25, making him at the time the youngest driver to ever win the race, and has added five more trophies since then. Tetrick will head to Saturday’s $650,000 edition of the event for 3-year-old pacers with the opportunity to equal John Campbell’s record of seven Meadowlands Pace triumphs when he drives Mirage Hanover, 9-2 on the morning line, at The Meadowlands.

After teaming up for a memorable stakes-and-milestone win two weeks ago, Twin B Joe Fresh and driver Dexter Dunn return to action Saturday (July 13) in the $140,000 Dorothy Haughton Memorial for older female pacers at The Meadowlands. Last time out, Twin B Joe Fresh posted a neck victory over Sylvia Hanover in the Perfect Sting Stakes at the Big M. In addition to being Twin B Joe Fresh’s sixth consecutive triumph on the Grand Circuit dating back to last November, it was Dunn’s 2,000th win since arriving in the U.S. from New Zealand in the summer of 2018.

New connections hope for ‘Funtime’ in Pace
Multiple-stakes-winner Funtime Bayama moved to trainer Andrew Harris’ stable less than two weeks ago, but the Meadowlands Pace hopeful seems to have made himself at home. Funtime Bayama was purchased by Bill Pollock, Bruce Areman, and Harris on June 20, five days after the 3-year-old gelding’s third-place finish in the million-dollar Pepsi North America Cup at Woodbine Mohawk Park. On Saturday, Funtime Bayama will meet seven foes in the second of two $50,000 Meadowlands Pace eliminations for 3-year-old pacers at The Meadowlands.
