Hundred Dollar Man Wins Harrington Open
Brenda Teague’s Hundred Dollar Man was a 1:53.3 winner in the $17,000 Open Pace feature Monday (April 28) at Harrington Raceway. The 4-year-old Lather Up gelding emerged from the pocket full of pace to eclipse the pacesetter Itsrockandroll A in deep stretch for his 11th career win for trainer Clyde Francis. Its Rockandroll A was second with Ats Hanover third.

Halfadozen, Buter star at Pocono Monday
The Six Pack filly Halfadozen had been the only 3-year-old trotting miss to sweep her three Bobby Weiss Series preliminaries, but come the $50,000 Weiss Championship on Monday (April 28) afternoon at Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania, the crowd still dismissed her at 12-1. The tote board did not dismay her at all, though, as she posted a lifetime mark of 1:55 in taking her Weiss crown and remaining undefeated in four seasonal starts.

Shenandoah Downs kicked off its spring harness racing season in Woodstock this weekend by paying tribute to driver Hunter Myers. The horse community gathered on-track to observe a moment of silence before the first race to recognize Hunter’s legacy. A 50/50 raffle was held both Saturday & Sunday to benefit Hunter’s fiancé and young son, and over $2,400 was raised as both raffle winners — local horsemen Steve & Nicole Wetzel and Shenandoah County Fair Manager Dawn Burch — donated their winnings right back to the fund.
