Every winter, there are a handful of young drivers who make an impact at The Meadowlands, as most of the A-list pilots who won the Meadowlands Paces, Hambletonians, Breeders Crowns and Fall Final Four/FanDuel Championship events take a well-deserved rest after a hectic six months of Grand Circuit grind.

Shenandoah Downs ushers in its tenth year of pari-mutuel harness racing in Woodstock, Va., with a pair of nine-race cards this weekend on Saturday (April 26) and Sunday (April 27), highlighted by the final day’s finale — a $9,000 winners over pace with a full  field of eight.

Oaxacan Dream N put the field asleep in Buffalo Raceway’s $12,500 main event for the distaff pacers by notching a half length victory over Rightfully Mine in a season’s best 1:56.1 over the fast track on Wednesday afternoon (April 23).

Tyler Long’s Vlahos ($34.40, Montrell Teague) was a wire-to-wire winner in 1:56.2 in the $18,000 Open Trot Wednesday at Harrington Raceway.

Scott Zeron emerged as the star of the Wednesday morning (April 23) qualifying session at Pocono Downs at Mohegan Pennsylvania with four victorious drives, winning the fastest mile of the day and also with three sophomores trained by Jared Bako.

“Steady as she goes” was originally a phrase used for a ship that was sailing steadily; however, it can accurately be used for the racing career of Scorecard Dandy, twice the Illinois older pacing mare of the year.

Northfield Park regular Greg Grismore continued to climb the win ranks on Tuesday (April 22) by earning his 8,000th career driving win aboard Disgruntled Carl in the nightcap at MGM Northfield Park.
