‘Warrior’ on comeback trail, wins at Big M
Recently, times have been tough for Warrior One, a veteran whose lifetime earnings are nearing $800,000. But the Ron Burke trainee got back into the winner’s circle for the first time since June 20 in Friday night’s (Nov. 22) $11,000 conditioned trotting feature at the Meadowlands, and he looked impressive doing it to snap a seven-race losing streak.
Mucho Macho repeats in Batavia feature
After scoring an upset from an outside post last week at Batavia Downs, Mucho Macho moved up in class and did the exact same thing at The Downs in the $9,500 featured trot on a wet and chilly Friday (Nov. 22) over a track rated sloppy.
Weather plays major factor in Philly features
Very nearly as much as the horses and horsemen themselves, the southeast Pennsylvania weather played a decisive factor in the Friday afternoon (Nov. 220 racing at Harrah’s Philadelphia. Moisture from the sky, whether drizzle or flurries, caused the track to be downgraded from “good” to “sloppy,” and was coupled with a strong headwind in the stretch, which necessitated horses finding success primarily by being close to the pace, and if on the lead backing off quarter two into the frigid wind.
Katelyn’s Angel returns to Cumberland
