Gruesome Twosome headlines Indiana Sire Stakes winners
The week of Indiana Sire Stakes action continued at Harrah’s Hoosier Park on Thursday (Oct. 3) with the final leg for both the sophomore trotting colts and rookie pacing colts. Three $46,500 divisions of the sixth leg for pacing colts took to the track, while a pair of divisions for trotting colts was highlighted by a triumphant return to the Hoosier State for Gruesome Twosome.
The Goose Princess leads Lexington sale on Day 4
Trotting filly The Goose Princess was the top seller during the Thursday (Oct. 3) session of the Lexington Selected Yearling Sale, purchased at the Fasig-Tipton Pavilion by Determination for $120,000.
Metro winner Fallout returns to Red Mile Saturday
Fallout, who dipped from the Kentucky Championship Series and won the $740,000 Metro Pace at Woodbine Mohawk Park, will ship back south to the Red Mile to compete in the third and closing division of the $300,900 International Stallion Stakes (ISS) for 2-year-old pacing colts and geldings on Saturday (Oct. 5).
Virtual Horizon turns in lifetime best at Plainridge
Legged up from his 1-1/4-mile outing last week, Virtual Horizon had a lot of pace late on Thursday afternoon (Oct. 3) and captured the featured $22,500 conditioned pace with a career-best mile at Plainridge Park.

Hambletonian winner Karl drew post 11 in the second tier for Sunday’s 132nd Kentucky Futurity for 3-year-old trotters at the Red Mile and was made the 6-5 morning-line favorite for trainer Nancy Takter and driver Yannick Gingras.
USTA Off-Track Roadster Series Finals Thursday in Tennessee
The final for the USTA Roadster Off-Track Series will be held Thursday evening (Oct. 3) at the Smoky Mountain Equine Fest held at the Walters State Great Smoky Mountains Expo Center in White Pine, Tenn. The show starts at 6 p.m. with the USTA Roadster Off-Track Series Final as class number 21 through the ring.
