Plainridge invader Skyway Victor was a confident 1:54.2 winner in Cumberland’s featured closing day event, the $25,000 Pine Tree Invitational Pace. In one of the swiftest miles of the 33-day meet, driver Kevin Switzer Jr. was parked out most of the mile but scored by 1-3/4 lengths over The Wild Card.
Abby Rose wins feature at Tioga
Abby Rose and Ridge Warren fired late to capture the featured $9,500 pace for fillies and mares at Tioga Downs on Saturday (Aug. 5).

The Batavia Downs spotlight shone brightly on Joe Chindano Jr. Saturday night (Aug. 5) as he trained and drove the winners of both weekly features while producing one record-breaking performance in the process.

Bythemissal soars, Allywag Hanover rebounds in Sam McKee Memorial
Both Bythemissal and Allywag Hanover entered their respective divisions of the Sam McKee Memorial, for open pacers, seeking comeback wins — Bythemissal following a spell of sickness and Allywag Hanover on his 6-year-old return. The pair pounced and powered in the stretch to each land victories on Saturday (Aug. 5) at The Meadowlands.
