On what was likely the most power-packed race card of the year thus far in the harness game, Majorca N, Seriously Hanover and Nicholas Beach all brought their “A”-games on the way to jaunts down victory lane Saturday night at The Meadowlands.

Divine Art made it 17 wins in a row at Cal Expo Friday night when she captured the featured Filly and Mare Open Pace for owner/driver/trainer Gerry Longo.

Chapheart had the all-important tightener over the track, and the Ron Burke trainee responded with a superb effort in the Friday night featured conditioned trot at The Meadowlands, giving driver Joe Bongiorno one of his four victories on the card.

The finals of the Snowshoe Pacing Series and Blizzard Pacing Series took top billing on Friday’s (Feb. 10) 11-race card at Woodbine Mohawk Park.

With two GSY events carded for Friday night (Feb. 10) at The Meadowlands, it was the first week back after last week’s cancellation.

In an appeal heard by New Jersey Administrative Law Judge Andrew M. Barron, Charlie May was declared the winner of the 2021 Meadowlands Pace. His decision has been filed with the New Jersey Racing Commission for consideration.

The $12,500 DHA Free-For-All Pace headed by Firenado; an $8,800 Open Trot featuring Mandeville and; an $8,000 Open Pace with Dancin Lance share the spotlight Saturday night (Feb. 11) at Cal Expo.

Can’t Beach That cleared to the lead just past the opening quarter and held off a fast closing Trip Hammer to win the $17,000 Open I Pace Thursday night (Feb. 9) at Rosecroft.

Penzance Hanover and owner-trainer-driver Art Stafford Jr. made a well-timed move to win Thursday’s (Feb. 9) $27,500 Blue Hen/Open Handicap Pace at Bally’s Dover.

It was a warm and wet Thursday afternoon (Feb. 9) at Batavia Downs, and despite the sun making a cameo appearance for a couple of races, the wet conditions may have contributed to only three favorites winning in 12 races on a day where big payouts were the norm.
