Race fans across the country will be gathered to watch the 149th Preakness stakes Saturday (May 18) from Pimlico. However, the party won’t stop there as there will be a Pick-5 carryover of $3,241 at MGM Northfield Park.

The Meadowlands will offer a short overnight series for 3-year-old trotters with separate colt and filly divisions that are non-winners of 2 (NJ sired 3) pari-mutuel races or $30,000 lifetime (winners of more than $75,000 life ineligible) with New Jersey sired preferred (date preference over non-NJ sired) and eligible for the 25 percent NJ bonus in these races.

The Meadowlands Racetrack’s annual charity handicapping contest is scheduled for Saturday (May 25). The deadline for charities to register for a chance to participate is this Thursday (May 16).

The Meadowlands Racetrack is hosting a free to play handicapping contest this Saturday (May 18). The contest is open to anyone over 18 years of age and offers a $10,000 total prize pool, with prize payouts to the top ten finishers.

Eric Warner, Monticello Raceway’s Race Secretary, has announced that on the new condition sheet purses have been raised 10 percent across the board.

As the stakes season gets underway, The Meadowlands will endeavor to provide starts for those horses prepping for both Grand Circuit and regional programs.

Starting this Friday (May 10) and Saturday (May 11), Meadowlands Racetrack will conduct back paddock interviews with drivers and trainers as their top trotters and pacers make their return to the racetrack.
