Oak Grove Racing, Gaming & Hotel kicks off its 2023 harness racing season Sunday (April 16), with familiar names returning for the 30-day meeting and a new-look wagering menu and handicapping resources in place for horseplayers.

Shenandoah Downs will present the Mountain Racing Series, comprised of a pair of $25,000 Open events, on Saturday, April 22.

Vernon Downs Racetrack will be opening its gates for the 70th season of live harness racing on Saturday (April 15).

The Thoroughbred game has always been somewhere chalk-haters go and try to cash big tickets. In fact, old-time horse players will tell you that for many years Saratoga Race Course was known as the “Graveyard of Favorites.” Well, it’s time to stand aside, Saratoga — and every other Thoroughbred track, for that matter — as the Meadowlands has the lowest percentage of winning favorites of any track currently racing in North America, regardless of breed.

Tioga Downs will offer a few claiming series each Friday during the 2023 season, beginning on May 12. They will roll on throughout the season; each will be two legs with a final.

Miami Valley Raceway, already boasting one of the highest overnight purse structures in the industry, is proud to announce a 20 percent across-the-board purse increase, effective Sunday (April 16) and through the end of the meet on May 6.

The 2023 meet at Running Aces is fast approaching, and management at the track has provided an update of exciting things to look for this racing season at the Minnesota oval.
