Yonkers Raceway Pick-4, Races 7-10, Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012
$1 play: 26/17/48/26 = $16
Analysis:
Race 7: A New York Sire Stakes trot starts tonight’s Pick-4. (2) Trouble and (6) Brookroad Knight have shown the most ability of this six pack and finished one and two in one of these at Yonkers on July 3.
Race 8: (1) Trip Hanover made two moves through hot pace before weakening. Seems to be on an improving pattern since joining high percentage barn and should be tough to catch from the rail. (7) Delco Rocknroll showed some of the ability he flashed in the midwest in second Yonkers start, rating a :57.2 half then accelerating with :56.4 final half to gamely hold sway at this level, taking a new lifetime mark in the process.
Race 9: (4) Shark Dressed Man was used hard to the top, chased a wicked :55.4 middle half before understandably weakening. Fast pacer seems to be at the top of his game right now and looks set to handle the $15,000 level. I’m throwing in (8) Going Native for a bit of a price and the fact that Brennan, going into last night, had won 20 of the 56 Pick-4 races I’ve been asked to handicap in the Strategic Wagering Program. This one had a steady rally from far back in same race as top one last time, following a good placing two back and a strong come from behind score against lesser three back. Joins new barn off claim, reunites with Brennan and looks like post eight could be only drawback.
Race 10: (2) Sam’s Escape had even pace finishing against faster. Broke in 1:51.3 mile two back and was impeded early, pacing :55.4 final half with no real shot three back. Takes a key drop and may have found a winning spot for “The Bomber.” (6) Mcdana N went an improved mile when dropped to this level last time and is long overdue.
Good luck.
