Cattlewash’s book full and closed for 2023

Port Perry, ON — The Cattlewash Syndicate and Tara Hills Stud are pleased to announce the 2023 book for world champion Cattlewash is now full and closed.

The fastest stallion sired by the legendary Somebeachsomewhere bred 178 mares last year and has once again been extremely popular with breeders.

A multiple stakes winner at 2, 3 and 4, Cattlewash earned $1.3 million while facing arguably the toughest group of pacers ever assembled each year he raced.

Cattlewash has impressed horsemen and breeders alike with his outstanding good looks, kind disposition and extreme fertility. Knowledgeable horsemen have noted that Cattlewash is the mirror image of his sire Somebeachsomewhere, resembling him more than any of his other sons. His first foals arrived in 2022 and he’s apparently passing on those good looks.

Ron Burke, who trained Cattlewash, was thrilled upon inspecting a group of 10 foals this past October. He remarked, “I was very impressed by the foals I saw. They have good size, great leg and are very athletic. Looking at these foals was like looking at the foals of Somebeach.”

“We continue to be truly overwhelmed by the reception Cattlewash has received here in Ontario,” said Tara Hills’ Dave Heffering. “His first Ontario foals will begin hitting the ground within the next few weeks and there’s a lot of excitement and anticipation for their arrival.”

Breeders are invited to email Tara Hills their comments and photos of their Cattlewash foals to tarahill@on.aibn.ca. Those received will be shared as posts on the Tara Hills Facebook page for all to see.
