Columbus, OH — Chad Philip Moore, 46, of Washington Court House, Ohio, died April 17, 2023, at his home. His death was sudden and unexpected.
He was born on Dec. 19, 1976, in Fayette County to Philip Keith and Susan Ann (Winters) Moore. He was a graduate of Miami Trace High School. Mr. Moore was currently employed at Penske Truck Rental in Obetz, Ohio, as a certified diesel technician.
He had a passion for training Standardbreds and was actively involved in the Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association, USTA, and the Fayette County Harness Horsemen’s Association.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, tinkering with mowers, and volunteering his time to help kids in 4-H clubs.
Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his son, Chad Allen; brother, Cody; and grandparents, Virgil and Virginia, Marvin Eugene Winters, Delbert Locey, and Virginia Lee Merritt. Survivors include his parents; his loving and devoted wife of 27 years, Stephanie Lee March (Merritt), whom he married on Jan. 26, 1997; son, Kyle Anthony (Darcy); grand-dogs, Abbie, Keisha, Stella, and Ginger; sisters, Chana and Courtney; grandmother, Patti Locey; mother-in-law, Margie Sheridan; bonus parents, Richie and Sam Gilpen; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
The funeral service will be held on Thursday (April 20) at 1 p.m. at the Summers Funeral Home with Danny Dodds officiating with burial to follow at the Washington Cemetery. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
