Northfield, OH — There is a lot of anticipation and excitement ahead of the Northfield/Pompano Driver’s Challenge on Tuesday (April 11) in partnership with the Ohio Harness Horsemen’s Association.

Both Tuesday and Wednesday (April 12) will feature eight driver’s challenge races each night, taking place from races three through ten. Drivers will earn points based on where they finish in each race (10-7-5-3-1, scratches will net a driver 2 points), and the winning team will be determined by who has the most points at the end of the competition.

Representing Team Northfield is the American Cancer Society of Cleveland, and representing Team Pompano will be the Standardbred Transition Alliance.

The American Cancer Society is the leading cancer-fighting organization with a vision of ending cancer as we know it for everyone. They are the only organization working to improve the lives of people with cancer and their families through advocacy, research, and patient support.

The Standardbred Transition Alliance aims to accredit, inspect and award grants to approved organizations that acquire, rehabilitate, train, and re-home Standardbreds following their racing career. Funding for the STA is generated across a spectrum of outlets throughout the industry.

“The STA is so pleased to have been chosen to participate in this epic driver’s challenge,” said administrator Jennifer Daniels. “We’ll be rooting for our team, and are hopeful we’ll win a little money to fund our 2023 grant awards.”
