Greenville, OH — Charlie May will be back at the Darke County Fair on Wednesday night (Aug. 21) to defend his Gene Riegle Memorial title. Driver Dan Noble will send Charlie May out of post eight in the $35,000 event.

The 6-year-old gelded son of McArdle is a 27-time winner with more than $2.1 million. He comes into the 2024 edition of the Riegle off a fifth-place finish in Saturday’s (Aug. 17) $100,000 #senditin Invitational at Eldorado Scioto Downs.
The fan favorite established a new track mark of 1:50 in last year’s Riegle.
Owner Don Tiger, in conjunction with Conrad photos, will be distributing 100 win photos from Charlie May’s memorable 2023 win.
The Gene Riegle Memorial undercard will feature the $20,000 Arnie Almahurst Trot, nine divisions of the Dr. H. M. Parshall Memorials for 2- and 3-year-olds, a leg of the Spring Haven Farm Ladies Drivers Series, a leg of the Terry Holton Youth Driver’s Series and three divisions of the Great Lakes Amateur Drivers Association.
To celebrate their big night, the Darke County Fair board will be handing out their collector’s Gene Riegle Memorial glass, while supplies last.
The 16-race card will kick off at 7 p.m.
Fans who can’t attend this great evening of racing can watch all of the action thanks to the Ohio Harness Horseman’s Association’s Facebook page and Youtube channel.
