COSA TV kicks off 2023 season Sunday at Flamboro

Dundas, ON — COSA TV will have its first live broadcast of the season this Sunday night (May 21) with coverage of the second edition of the Charles Juravinski Memorial Cup, from Flamboro Downs.

The C$260,000 race, formerly known as the Confederation Cup, features the top 4-year-old pacers in North America, including 2022 Little Brown Jug champion Bythemissal. It is named for the late Charles Juravinski, one of the most unique and respected figures in Canadian harness racing and the man who built Flamboro Downs.

His wife of 65 years, Margaret, passed away recently and also has a race named in her honor. The C$50,000 Margaret Juravinski Memorial Invitational, for 4-year-old mares, will also take place on Sunday evening, and Canadian champion Silver Label headlines what is an outstanding nine-horse field.

Greg Blanchard, Mark McKelvie, Robert Reid Jr. and Jaimi MacDonald will host Sunday’s broadcast, which airs from 8:30-10:30 p.m. It can be seen on the COSA TV Facebook and Youtube channels as well as at standardbredcanada.ca.

COSA TV will be back five days later on Friday, May 26, from The Raceway at Western Fair District with coverage of the C$150,000 Camluck Classic, C$50,000 Forest City Pace for mares, and much more.
