Dan Patch banquet door prize: 14-karat horseshoe diamond ring

Harrisburg, PA — During the 75th diamond anniversary year of the United States Harness Writers Association (USHWA), it seems appropriate that a 14-karat diamond ring will be a highly-desired door prize for attendants of the Dan Patch Awards banquet, presented by Caesars Entertainment, honoring the best and brightest human and equine jewels of 2022 harness racing, and to be held on Feb. 19 at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando, Fla.

Bow River Jewelry of Mentor, Ohio, one of the leading equestrian jewelers in the country, is the generous donor of the ring. Art Strozewski of Bow River is an honorary member of USHWA.

The ring is a 14-karat white gold horseshoe ring with 11 round brilliant cut diamonds, having a total weight of 0.50 carats of diamonds with G color, SI1 clarity. The ring has a retail value of $2,100. The lucky winner of the unisex ring will have it sized at the banquet.

Strozewski said, “Bow River is proud to be able to participate in USHWA’s 75th anniversary, and we thank them for this opportunity.”

For his part, USHWA president Barry Lefkowitz stated, “We have worked with Art and Bow River for many years, and I’m delighted that he thought enough of our 75th-anniversary milestone to recognize it in this way.”

Room reservations for the Dan Patch Awards weekend, which include the organization’s annual meetings and is highlighted by the Dan Patch banquet, can be made at the Rosen Shingle Creek website here. Sponsorship opportunities for the event can still be procured from sponsorship chairman Shawn Wiles at swiles@rwcatskills.com. For information regarding banquet tickets, contact Judy Davis-Wilson at zoe8874@aol.com. To place an ad in the Souvenir Journal, contact Kim Rinker at Trotrink@aol.com.

The United States Harness Writers Association is the leading group of communicators about the Standardbred horse. USHWA conducts the official annual balloting for the sport’s most prestigious honors: induction to the Hall of Fame and Communicators Hall of Fame, along with the selection of the Horse of the Year, Trotter and Pacer of the Year (all of which will be announced for the first time at the banquet), and the leading divisional horses of each season.

The Dan Patch Banquet, this year presented by Caesars Entertainment,  is the Association’s principal source of funding, and with generous financial support from the harness racing and breeding industry, USHWA is able to host the banquet at a world-class facility in a world-class manner.
