Celina, OH – Danny D. “Frog” Handley, 77, of Mayfield Heights, Ohio, formerly of Celina, passed away May 15, 2026, at the Cleveland Clinic – Hillcrest Hospital in Mayfield Heights.
Born Feb. 27, 1949, in Celina, he was the son of Lewis W. and Opal B. (Chaney) Handley, who are both deceased.
Danny is survived by his foster brothers and sisters: Connie Chaney Liming of Oneida, Tenn., and Steve (Renee), Rick, Ronnie, Jim, Dennis, and Lori Studer, as well as many extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his foster brother and sister: Richard Chaney and Allis Walter Real; grandparents, John Handley and Ida Louise (Fackler) Handley Harter and Charles and Luella (Cowell) Chaney; aunts and uncles, Ted Handley, Naomi Handley Dauber, Frances Fackler Booher, and Carolyn Handley Snider; and Harrold, Norman, Orby, and Willard Chaney, Dorothy Chaney Koeppell, Betty Jane Chaney, Freda Chaney Regedanz, and Madonna “Rosie” Chaney Percy; along with a number of other close relatives.
Danny was employed as a horse caretaker at Northfield Park in Northfield, Ohio. He worked with horses his whole life. Danny enjoyed bingo and loved playing cards.
Family and Friends may call at W.H. Dick & Sons-Hellwarth Funeral Home in Celina, on Friday (May 29) from 2-3 p.m., with the funeral service to begin at 3.
Burial will follow at Mercer Memory Gardens.
