Columbus, OH — Darrell W. Dashiell Sr., 79, of Eden, Md., died Oct. 29, 2023, at Manokin Manor in Princess Anne after an extended stay.
He was born on Dec. 13, 1943, in Salisbury, Md., a son of the late James and Violet Dashiell.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1962-1965. He owned several service stations in the area and Shore Fuel Oil Company and worked with his son, Darrell Jr., at his business, Mid-Eastern Oil Co, Inc. and then later retired.
He also owned several Standardbreds which he thoroughly enjoyed.
He was an active member of the Improved Order of Red Men, Tony Tank Tribe, where he was Past Sachem and director. He was also a member of the USTA, Salisbury Moose Lodge, Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion.
He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Janet; son, Darrell Jr. (Kim); granddaughters, Jessica (Matt) Weber, Chelsea (Bennett) Young and Shayna; great-grandchildren, Liam, Mason, Graham, Sophie, and Mallory; sisters, Edwina (Bruce) Kimball and Betty (Ken) Fitzsimons; brother, Jim (Annette); several nieces and nephews; and a host of close and very special friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Della “Michele”; and stepmother, Helen.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday (Nov. 25) beginning at 2 p.m. at Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury, where family and friends may call starting at 1 p.m. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury.
