Hamburg, NY — The sultry summer weather at Buffalo Raceway was conducive for some speedy times, and Davey Day Trader ($5.60) didn’t disappoint as he scorched the field in a lifetime best 1:53 in the $16,000 Open Pace on Saturday afternoon (June 21). He trounced Annapolis Hanover by 3-3/4 lengths with Frontier Rollo taking third place.
With temperatures in the mid-80s and humid air, Davey Day Trader (David McNeight III) wasted little time in firing to the front. Fresh off a 4-3/4-length decision last week in 1:54, Davey Day Trader played “catch me if you can” with the field through red-hot splits of :28.2, :57 and 1:24.4.
Enjoying a 2-1/2-length lead reaching the top of the stretch, Davey Day Trader left little doubt who was the best as he rolled through a :28.1 final quarter to easily keep Annapolis Hanover (Kyle Cummings) and Frontier Rollo (Kyle Swift) back at a safe distance.

Co-owned by James Costa and Pete Kibler, the 5-year-old Davey Day Trader (Huntsville-Gigi Deo) has now won five times in 11 appearances in 2025. Trained by David McNeight Jr., Davey Day Trader has now earned $43,230 on the campaign and $134,627 lifetime.
Jim Morrill Jr. stayed on a big roll as he collected another four victories on the card while Drew Monti and Swift each posted triples. Trainer Samuel Smith conditioned three winners with Christopher Petrelli notching two.
Racing at Buffalo will continue on Wednesday afternoon (June 25) with a 15-race program set for 2:30 p.m. For more information including the latest news, upcoming promotions, entries, results and race replays, go to www.buffaloraceway.com.
