Delaware, OH — The Delaware (Ohio) County Fair hosted seven $20,000 fifth-leg divisions of the Buckeye Stallion Series for male trotters — four for freshmen and three for sophomores — as part of a 21-race card on the third day of its five-day meet on Tuesday (Sept. 22).
Driver Chris Page won three of the four 2-year-old divisions, guiding Easter BB, East King Street and Great Start to victory.
Easter BB recorded the fastest mile of the four freshman races, winning the first division in 1:59.3 for his fourth BSS win of 2026. The Creatine gelding led gate to wire, recording fractions of :30.1, 1:01, and 1:30.3 en route to winning by 4-1/2 lengths. Aiming To Please (Mike Wilder) and Blazen Sam (David Miller) rounded out the top three.
Easter BB is trained by Phillip Knox for owner Brant Brower. He has hit the board in all nine seasonal starts with eight wins and $80,330 in earnings.
East King Street took the second division in 2:00.3, rallying from fifth place at the three-quarter pole to win by three-quarters of a length. Glowing Acceptance (Ronnie Wrenn Jr.) was second followed by Way Too Easy (Brett Miller) in third.
East King Street is an In Range gelding trained by Virgil Morgan Jr. for owner Joyce McClelland. Both of his seasonal victories have come in the BSS, and he has $28,004 in earnings in eight starts.
Morgan stablemate Great Start won the third division by 1-1/4 lengths in 2:01.2. Big Train (David Miller) and Smoking Mars (Kayne Kauffman) finished second and third, respectively.
Great Start is owned by Joyce A McClelland Stable. The Uncle Peter gelding is a two-time winner in the BSS this season. He has hit the board in five of season starts on the year with three wins and $25,785 in earnings.
Lou Armstrong (Anthony MacDonald) won the final freshman division, doing so in gate-to-wire fashion in 2:01.1. The Cuatro De Julio gelding recorded fractions of :30.2, 1:01.2 and 1:32 en route to winning by more than 8 lengths with Dollar Guard (Page) and Lets Go Long (Austin Hanners) rounding out the top three.
A three-time BSS winner this year, Lou Armstrong is trained by Jason McGinnis for owner Thestable Lou Armstrong. He has hit the board in seven of nine seasonal starts with five wins and earnings of $101,100.
Royal Enterprise (David Miller) was the fastest among the sophomore colt trotters, winning the first of the three divisions in 1:58.2. Max The Mighty (Aaron Merriman) led at the first three calls in :29.2, :59.2 and 1:28.3, but Royal Enterprise pulled ahead by a nose at the line for his second BSS win of the season. Time Has Come (Brett Miller) finished third.
Royal Enterprise is an Enterprise gelding trained by Greg Wright Jr. for owner Jon Erdner. He has six wins in 19 career starts, banking $49,130.
Lane Holding Court (Jeff Nisonger) also scored his second seasonal BSS victory, taking the second division by a neck over Dan’s Victory (Page) in 1:59. Ready For Pictures (John DeLong) finished third after leading at each of the first three calls in :29.3, :59.3 and 1:29.
Lane Holding Court is a Lane Of Stone gelding trained by Mark Winters for owner Harry Horowitz Estate. He has 10 wins and $69,525 in earnings in 21 lifetime starts.
Moon Time Moni (Tyler Smith) won the third division by a length in 1:58.4 as Pump Action (Sam Widger) and Spirit Mission (Merriman) rounded out the top three.
The Ready For Moni gelding is trained by Scott Cox for owners Wayne Mast Jr., Callam Racing, Green Wave Racing, and Wayne Zollars. This was his sixth career victory in 25 starts, increasing his earnings to $67,592.
The five-day Delaware County Fair meet continues Wednesday (Sept. 23) with a 21-race card starting at 11 a.m. The card is highlighted by the $240,000 Jugette and also includes the fifth leg of the BSS for freshman colt pacers. Catch all the racing coverage on the OHHA YouTube channel.
