Dice Dice Baby upsets in Mares Open at Rosecroft

Ft. Washington, MD — Dice Dice Baby ($33.80) and Jared Moyer pulled off a 15-1 upset in the $10,000 Mares Open Pace Tuesday night (April 16) at Rosecroft.

The 6-year-old daughter of Rockincam was game, using a first over bid to wear down the pacesetter Honey Love. As the mares hit the top of the lane, Moyer and Dice Dice Baby edged clear to win by 1-1/4 lengths, besting Cindy Jo and Auntmilly’smartini in 1:54.

Johnathan Ahle won three times on the card and stretched his dash lead to nine over Trae Porter in the Rosecroft drivers standings. Since April 1, Ahle has won 20 of 53 races and has a UDR of .434.

Claiming queen St Lad’s Bijou won for the sixth time in eight starts at the meet, this week for owner Eric Foster Jr. who claimed the mare last week for trainer Eric Foster. She and former stablemate Lloyds Loves are strong contenders for horse of the meet with eight dates remaining.

Corey Braden and Eric Davis each won twice Tuesday night.

Thursday’s Jackpot Hi-5 carryover now sits at $46,256.63.
