The 8-year-old Swedish trotter Don Fanucci Zet, trained by Daniel Redén and with Ôrjan Kihlström in the bike, came from behind to win the Kalmarsundpokal at Kalmar in southern Sweden in 1:51.1f, equaling the track record.

Race favorite Denver Gio, with Alessandro Gocciadoro, was in command from the start and looked like a winner going around the last bend. However, Don Fanucci Zet finished strong to win by 1-1/2 lengths.

This was his third victory in 2024 from five races. The purse for the winner was $14,000.

The first crop of 50 foals from Don Fanucci Zet will hit the tracks this year.

Don Fanucci Zet is sired by Hard Livin and out of the pacing mare Kissed By The West, she by Western Terror.
