Columbus, OH — Donna M. “Pooch” Weyant, 83, of Reynoldsdale, Pa., died July 31, 2024, at home.
Ms. Weyant was born in Aitch, daughter of the late Lester and Lena (Noland).
She and her business partner of over 50 years, Sandy Petersen, owned and operated Triple T Farms and Racing.
She was a member of the Pennsylvania and Virginia Harness Horsemen’s Associations, The Meadows, and was still racing until May of this year. She was very successful at racing and made many friends along the way.
Ms. Weyant was a member of Queen United Methodist Church.
She was a 1959 graduate of Greenfield-Kimmel High School and a 1963 graduate of Shippensburg State College.
Ms. Weyant was employed as an English and American History teacher at Spring Cove Middle School for 29 years. She was a member of the Spring Cove Education Association, Pennsylvania State Teachers Association and the National Education Association.
She is survived by her special nieces, Ronnette Musselman and Shawnelle Dively; as well as numerous other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Edna Decker; brothers, Clarence “Pete,” Ellsworth, and Donald; and a special niece, Jacqueline Black.
She felt that she had a better life than anyone could ask for. She loved her horses, especially Swinger, and spending time with her family, her racing family and her many friends.
Friends will be received from 2-5 p.m. Sunday (Aug. 4) at Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday (Aug. 5) at Queen United Methodist Church, with Michele Fisher officiating. Interment at Bedford County Memorial Park.
