Dover honors Kirby after 5,000th career win Sunday

Dover, DE – Victor Kirby reached a milestone at Shenandoah Downs on Sunday (Oct. 29). Kirby picked up the 5,000th victory of his driving career with K J Todd in 1:59.3.

K J Todd, a 3-year-old gelding, was 18 lengths back at the half before Kirby guided him to an improbable 1-1/4 length victory for owner Pamela Wagner and trainer John Wagner in the finale on Sunday afternoon.

Kirby was honored on Monday (Oct. 30) in the winner’s circle at Bally’s Dover. Friends, family and members of the Bally’s Dover driver colony were all on hand to congratulate Kirby.

Kirby cited his grandfather Vinal, his mother Sharon Kirby and trainer John Wagner for being an influence in his harness racing career.
